The Crowne Plaza Hotel on State Street in Albany, NY is undergoing a metamorphosis.
Recently, the establishment let go of its affiliation with InterContinental Hotels Group, and was picked up by Hilton.
In addition to the change of hands, a name change and updates are also in store for this downtown Albany hotel. For now, the recently renamed “Hotel Albany” is set for extensive renovations before it wears the new logo.
Even with the new changes, the hotel will continue to be a convenient and comfortable place to stay, with its proximity to Albany International Airport and Rensselaer Amtrak Train Station, in addition to its numerous rooms, meeting space, and two in-hotel restaurants.
For the past two years, the Crowne Plaza has hosted the high-altitude fundraiser for Special Olympics NY — Over The Edge. OTE organizers say the changes will have no effect on the event, and it will be held at the same location again this year on August 17, 2012.
