The Miss Albany Diner, open since 1941, will close after lunch service tomorrow, Friday, February 10.
Jane Brown and her late husband Cliff purchased the diner in 1988 and have run the establishment ever since.
The space, located at 893 Broadway, has been sold to a real-estate company held by the owners of Wolff’s Biergarten, located just next door to the diner.
While there are no plans to reopen the building as a diner, the new owners, Matt Baumgartner, Jimmy and Demetra Vann, co-owners of Wolff’s Biergarten and the Olde English Pub & Pantry, aren’t strangers to the Albany dining scene.
So we are losing an oldie but goodie, but we may be gaining something up and coming. What type of establishment would you like to see fill this space?
