celebrating their BusPlus anniversary by offering free rides today! Read on to
BusPlus is a limited stop service that features state of the art technology to provide riders with quicker information, fewer stops, and faster travel.
After just one year, the new route has seen a 25% ridership growth, averaging between 12,000 – 13,000 rides per weekday. BusPlus is a collaborate program between CDTA, NYSDOT, City of Albany, City of Schenectady, Town of Colonie, and Town of Niskayuna.
The limited stop service on NY Route 5 features new technology including transit signal priority, real time passenger information displays, GIS-based mobile data communication, queue jumpers, CCTV surveillance and pylon signs that connect to a fiber optic network. This technology gets customers information quickly and offers faster travel.
Today only, BusPlus will celebrate it’s first year in service by giving riders FREE rides all day long! (FREE rides are only available on the BusPlus route, not all CDTA routes.)
