If you are a ShopRite Supermarket employee in the Capital Region and are late for work, you can’t use the typical excuse that your car broke down anymore.
The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and ShopRite Supermarkets are working together to give all ShopRite employees in the Capital Region free transportation to work and anywhere else.
Currently there are about 1,000 store associates within the capital region and there will be 500 more associates after the new Slingerlands location opens. The CDTA is offering free bus transportation to any current ShopRite associate to work or wherever they please to go.
This is a first-of-its-kind transportation initiative that provides innovative,cost-effective, and environmentally friendly alternative to connecting employees to their workplace.
More than 70% of all CDTA customers use the service to commute to work. The CDTA and ShopRite are hoping this will be a great new cost effective alternative to help associates save money and adopt a sustainable lifestyle by incorporating CDTA travel into their daily living beyond the commute to school or work.
