Starting October 1, the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) is launching a new version of their Northway Xpress service and is expected to be better, more efficient and cheaper. Customers can expect changes in fares and elimination of unproductive services starting now!
The Northway Xpress is a service operated by Upstate Transit and gives customers a premier commute service offering coach seating with high-end amenities in a climate-controlled environment. Riders can get work done with complimentary Wi-Fi and the new NX Swiper card gives access to other CDTA services, including BusPlus.
A feature of the new Northway Xpress service is the inclusion of additions trips based on customers request and new routes to make quicker trips. The CDTA is hoping that all the new additions and changes will create a better no-hassle commute for their customers.
Each zone now has a new pricing structure to make it more affordable for commuters. The new Northway Xpress pricing structure is:
Zone One (Clifton Park/Halfmoon) is $4 per trip, $35 for a 10-trip pass, or $110 for an NX Swiper.
Zone Two (Ballston Spa/Malta) is $5 per trip, $40 for a 10-trip pass, and $125 for an NX Swiper.
Zone Three (S. Glens Falls/Saratoga Springs) is $7 per trip, $50 for a 10-trip pass, and $170 for an NX Swiper.
Will you be using the newly restructured Northway Xpress Service?
