You may have recognized something was missing in downtown Albany, NY recently. The painted clog sculptures from the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District’s (BID) Sculpture in the Streets – Stand in the Sole of Albany Public Art Exhibition & Walking Tour have been moved indoors for winter. The giant painted clogs will stay inside until March or as weather allows.
The Stand in the Sole of Albany exhibit began in June last year and will be continuing through May 2013. The move inside will preserve the artwork while providing a warm, comfortable experience for the viewer. The exhibit and tour are free and open to the public, guests can visit the clog sculptures at the following locations:
- What’s in a Name? inside the Albany County Convention & Visitors Bureau, 25 Quackenbush Square
- Boat Shoe inside the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) Office, 40 North Pearl
- Clog of Albany inside Capital Repertory Theater, 111 North Pearl Street
- Fun in the City inside Broadway Art Center (BAC), 488 Broadway
- Henry Hudson’s Ship – The Half Moon – New Netherland, New York inside 80 State Street
- Paths of the Past inside 30 South Pearl Street
- Mr. and Mrs. Karner Blue inside the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (BID) Office, 40 North Pearl
- Who Could Blame Them inside the Coliseum on the second floor, 153 South Pearl Street
- New Netherland inside City Hall, 24 Eagle Street
- Willem and Paula “Sole Mates” inside 41 State Street
