Yes I Can! Summer Olympics is now accepting participants and volunteers! Children with developmental disabilities will participate in a week-long physical challenge event, bridging the gap between children who are often excluded because of their disabilities with the supportive community of Troy.
Disabled children will be paired with a child volunteer and will work together to complete Olympic tasks throughout one week. The children must be between the ages of 8 to 14.
The event is hosted by Paula Fidalgo, news producer for WGGB (MA) and WFSB (CT) and creator of the syndicated radio show Parentology with Paula. Fidalgo has been interviewing families for over three years and noticed the growing concern from families about the exclusion of their children with developmental disabilities from school activities.
Yes I Can! Summer Olympics will run from July 8 to July 12, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Click here to register as a participant, volunteer, vendor or sponsor!
