How would you expect a birthday cake to look for a soon-to-be household name celebrity? Not like this! #hoffmancakefail
Today is the birthday of 2014 MLB top prospect Jeff Hoffman who grew up in Latham NY, attended Shaker High School and currently pitches for the East Carolina Pirates.
Affectionately nicknamed Jeffro (or often simply Fro) at home, Jeff celebrated his birthday with family this past weekend. Craving an ice cream cake, this soon-to-be pro received a cake that was shockingly amateur.
His mother posted the above cake photo with this explanation to her Facebook page on Sunday: “Apparently EVERYONE in the bakery called in sick at Hannaford. AND the teenage boy filling in, should STAY IN SCHOOL!”
Sound advice! She kept a sense of humor about the whole ordeal, and after speaking with the store manager, they got a discount on the cake and some redecorating supplies for free. So all is well. Below is a glimpse at the “after” photo, showing how the cake looked after the handiwork of Hoffman’s mother.
Do you think Hannaford would have ensured better quality had they known just who the birthday boy was? Comment below!
