The legendary Bogie’s has been a fixture in the Albany area as an underground music venue for over three decades, and it has sadly closed its doors one last time this past week. From its intimate ambiance during live shows to the always packed bar, it will be sorely missed amongst the music community in the area.
While the closing of one of the last standing hardcore venues in the Capital Region is unfortunate (other genres were booked there as well!), owner Mike Valente has plans to keep the area’s music scene alive.

Have no fear, music lovers! Valente will continue to book bands at The Fuzebox, Trickshots, and The Loft, as well as other locations throughout the area as Upstate Black N Blue Productions.
“Bogie’s has always been a staple in the music community for decades. Upstate Black N Blue Productions has been the in house promoter for the past seven years and has brought several acts through the Albany area of all genres,” Valente told us in regards to Bogie’s closure and the future of the music scene in the Capital Region.
Black N Blue Productions is based out of New York City since the 1980’s and has branches spread out throughout the entire country. The Upstate New York area is the most recent addition to the Black N Blue family and was chosen to help lead the crusade for the music community.
