A winner has been chosen of this season’s NBC show “The Voice”. The winner, Sawyer Fredericks, has local roots and is only sixteen years old.
Fredericks is from Fultonville, NY. Known for his laidback approach, Fredericks is still mature for his age. In an interview with the Times Union, Fredericks stated that winning wasn’t extremely important and he just wanted the ability to make music.
“If I’m super-popular, OK…If I go home, it’s also OK.” Fredericks said to the Times Union.
This humble attitude assisted Fredericks in landing first place of Season 8 of “The Voice”. The prize package includes $100,000, a Nissan car, and a record deal with Universal Music Group.
We are sending a big congratulations to Sawyer for his win and pursuing his dream! It’s always a pleasure seeing a local’s name in lights. Write in the comments below your words of congratulations to Sawyer for him to read!
