Hey, Albany! If you’re dreading the cold weather as much as I am (and are daydreaming about sunny Florida) I have good news! We have some exciting info regarding air travel out of our very own Albany International Airport. Check it out:
JetBlue is officially flying out of Albany airport as of Thursday morning! The airline will offer two daily round-trips to both Fort Lauderdale and Orlando in Florida. JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes told the Times Union that the airline has a “blueprint for growth” and expects service to Albany to increase to six or seven daily flights.
JetBlue won’t just stop at Florida, either. Hayes stated to the Times Union not to rule out JFK airport in New York City or Reagan Washington National Airport near D.C.
Additionally, after merging with US Airways, American Airlines will bring back its nonstop service to Chicago‘s O’Hare International Airport come early March.
I don’t know about you, but I’m already brainstorming ways I can take advantage of JetBlue’s presence in Albany! What do you think about the additional air travel options in the Capital Region?
