The Rivers Casino & Resort is a $330 million project that encompasses much more than just gaming. The casino itself will have a 50,000-square-foot gaming floor with 1,157 slot machines, 66 gaming tables, and 15 poker tables. Attached to the casino will be a 163-room hotel and a 10,000-square-foot banquet facility, set to open about six months after the casino.
The property will also have a steakhouse, a marketplace with light fare eateries, an entertainment lounge, and a day spa.
To operate its 80+ live tables, the brand new casino needs 300 qualified dealers. Don’t feel like you’re qualified? No problem! Rush Street Gaming, the parent company of Rivers Casino & Resort, is launching a dealer school on October 17th; another session will begin on October 24th. This training is free of charge, and no experience is necessary. The only requirement is you must be at least 21 years of age or older.
The 10- to 12-week dealer schools will offer morning, evening, and weekend sessions to best accommodate applicants’ schedules. Rush Street Gaming is also paying for all gaming license fees for everyone who does get hired. While you’re not guaranteed a job after attending the dealer school, it’s still worth throwing your hat in the ring.
“Whether it’s blackjack, craps, poker, or any of the other exciting table games we’ll have at Rivers Casino & Resort, being a great dealer takes a lot of practice in addition to having a great personality,” Mary Cheeks, General Manager of Rivers Casino & Resort, told Spotlight News. “This is a fun, fast-paced environment in which to begin building a career in the gaming industry.”
If being a card dealer isn’t your thing, other available positions include banquet supervisors, payroll specialists, security personnel, bar porters, bartenders, cocktail servers, cashiers, cooks, managers, hostesses, and valet attendants, among others. Positions come with competitive salaries and employees will be eligible for benefits like a 401(k), health insurance, and paid time off.
