67th Annual Albany St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Irish pipers, step dancers, and more at the annual Albany St. Patrick’s Day parade! The parade starts at Quail Street and Central Avenue.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade Family Festival

In conjunction with Albany’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, there is a Family Festival happening in Academy Park (which is on the parade route), hosted by the Irish American Heritage Museum and the City of Albany. This is a family-friendly, alcohol-free event. Stop by this festival to enjoy music, storytelling, face painting, arts and crafts, and more – all in celebration of the culture and heritage of Ireland.

Garth Brooks is performing at the Times Union Center! This is your chance to see the number one selling solo artist in US history – this is also his first Albany appearance in 20 years! Tickets range from $194 to $384.

Comedian Lisa Lampanelli will be performing at The Egg. Lampanelli is known for saying things most people are afraid to even think – you can expect a raunchy, hysterical performance! Tickets are $39.75.

Confections in Chocolate Fundraising Gala for the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York

The Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia is hosting the annual Confections in Chocolate Fundraising Gala. Tickets are $160, or $130 for ages 30 and under. This year’s theme is “A Gallery of Hope.” You will not be disappointed by the decadent desserts being offered by local pastry chefs in addition to cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, music, dancing, and more.
Hudson Valley Restaurant Week 1

If you’re in the Hudson Valley area a little south of Albany this weekend, you’ll definitely want to check out Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. There are over 200 participating restaurants featuring local products and prix fixe menus. A three-course dinner costs $32.95, and a three-course lunch is $22.95.

This is the absolute last weekend of the winter season to take advantage of free skating at the plaza! This is a perfect activity for the whole family. Rental skates are available for just $3 for children under 12, and $4 for adults.
Family Fun: Maple Sugar Open Houses

Five Rivers Environmental Education Center in Delmar is offering an introduction into the world of maple sugaring, from sap to syrup. Come out on Saturday to twirl a brace drill, pound a spile, inspect the sap flow of their sugarbush, and of course to sample maple! A local maple producer will be on hand to answer questions.
