Have you seen Ragtime in Washington Park yet? The Park Playhouse describes it as: “a soaring, epic, and culturally important musical based on E.L. Doctorow’s award-winning novel, which chronicles the lives of three different families from three different worlds at the start of the 20th century in pursuit of the American Dream.” Remember, amphitheater lawn seating is free!
Free Movies Under the Stars! – Moana
Friday, July 21
Moana, the popular animated film that just came out last year, is being shown for free at the College of Saint Rose. There will also be live music from Cobblestone, snacks, and drinks prior to the movie. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and arrive early!
Freedom Park Summer Concert Series: Rattail Jimmy
Saturday, July 22
Rattail Jimmy is performing at the free concert series in Freedom Park in Scotia, right near Jumping Jacks. They focus on exciting music from “the 80s and beyond,” covering groups like Journey, AC/DC, Guns N Roses, and Bon Jovi.
Summertime Music & More
Saturday, July 22
For just $10 you can get access to great local bands who will be covering bands that fit under the theme “femme gems.” Check out Hospital Corners as Garbage, Cloaca Mike as Bikini Kill, and more – artists and crafters will also be on hand. Tickets are $10 and proceeds will be gifted to the Albany Equinox and their domestic violence program. The bands are going to alternate between The Low Beat and Pauly’s Hotel, which are two of the best bars for live music in the Albany area.
Summer Super Soul Fest
Saturday, July 22
The Egg is hosting the Summer Super Soul Fest for a night of r&b tunes and party music with Dru Hill, V.IC., Positive K, and Chubb Rock. Tickets start at $46, or you can get $10 off for purchasing 10 or more tickets.

Brawl Stars VS Hudson Valley Horrors
Saturday, July 22
Check out the Albany All Stars as the Brawl Stars take the track against the Hudson Valley Horrors in an epic roller derby bout at the Albany Capitol Center. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 the day of the event – a portion of proceeds will benefit the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. There will be live music by Lila and the Obsessions and concessions by Mazzone Hospitality, and you can head to The City Beer Hall after the bout to keep the party going.
