The City of Albany is partnering with The Palace Theatre, Lodge’s Department Stores, and the Albany School District to collect cash donations to buy coats and other winter clothing items for Albany kids in need. There are numerous ways to donate, including while attending certain upcoming events at The Palace Theatre.
About the Cash for Coats Drive
In past years, Cash for Coats has distributed tens of thousands of winter clothing items to children in Albany. For their part, Lodge’s offers a significant discount on items purchased for the Cash for Coats Drive, which amplifies the impact of each cash donation.
You can donate in person at select events happening at The Palace Theatre, at certain drop off locations, or online.
How You Can Donate
Donations will be accepted for the drive at the following Palace events: Rocky Horror Picture Show on October 23rd, Lewis Black on November 3rd, and Old Dominion on November 4th. Representatives from the City of Albany and the Albany Tulip Queen & Court will be on hand at the performances with additional information.
You can also donate in person at the following drop off locations: Albany City Hall (24 Eagle Street), Lodge’s Department Store (75 North Pearl Street), Central Avenue Business Improvement District (176 Central Avenue), Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau (25 Quackenbush Square), Downtown Albany Business Improvement District (21 Lodge Street), Department of Recreation (7 Hoffman Avenue), and Youth Opportunity Office (382 Clinton Avenue).
