The 8th annual Bowling for Paws is happening at Spare Time in Latham. The cost is $25, which will get each bowler a shoe rental, two games of bowling, pizza, and drinks. All proceeds are going towards the PAWS program at the Albany Damien Center.

The 8th annual Firehouse Chili Cookoff is happening at Brown’s Brewing Company in Troy. Admission is $10 and includes samples from participating firehouses. Proceeds are going towards The Burn Center and the Fireman’s Home.

Ice Fishing Clinic at Thacher Park

You can learn all about ice fishing at a free clinic happening at Thacher Park in Voorheesville. The DEC will supply some bait and tackle (although definitely bring your own gear if you have it). There will be a short lesson followed by the group trying their luck on the ice.

You can try hockey for free at the Empire State Plaza with USA Hockey and Troy Albany Youth Hockey on Saturday morning. Skate rentals are free, but pre-registration is required.
