Attention football fans: on Wednesday, June 27, Stuyvesant Plaza will be hosting a meet and greet with members of the Albany Empire arena football team! Chat with your favorite players, take photos, and bring home signed autographs from the team. Read on to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
About The Event
During the free event on Wednesday, June 27, Albany Empire players and their team mascot will sign autographs, take photos, and meet one-on-one with fans. The meet and greet will take place from 3 PM to 4 PM at the far end of Stuyvesant Plaza near the Circles and Oliva! seating area.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Albany Empire to Stuyvesant Plaza during their inaugural season,” said Stuyvesant Plaza President and Albany Empire co-owner Ed Swyer in a statement. “The team has received a warm reception from Capital Region sports fans and we are excited to have these outstanding athletes visit shoppers at the Plaza. We encourage fans to join us as we continue to cheer on our hometown team during their push to the playoffs.”
Meet The Team
Currently competing for the number one seed in the playoffs, the Albany Empire is the Arena Football League’s newest franchise. They return to home action at the Times Union Center on July 7 at 6 PM in a game against the Philadelphia Soul.
“This community has welcomed us in with open arms since we came to town,” said Rob Keefe, Head Coach of the Albany Empire, in a statement. “We love getting out into the Capital Region and meeting our fans! We rely on our fans to be our ninth man and be as loud as possible to give us a true home field advantage.
