If you’re looking for a fun way to spend the evening with the added bonus of maybe winning a cool jersey, the Tri-City ValleyCats have a deal for you — and an even better one for a great cause.
Besides, in the realm of minor league sports franchise uniforms, the ValleyCats’ boast one heck of a cool logo with that beefy, cute feline slugger wielding a big, ol’ bat.
During their game Wednesday evening against the Brooklyn Cyclones at the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, the ValleyCats will raffle off game-worn Ravenclaw jerseys to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region.
The event will make winning fans feel even closer to the minor league players, since the raffled jerseys will come straight off the backs of players.
“We are humbled to have the support of the ValleyCats. From their founding, they have been a generous partner raising funds and introducing new supporters to our cause,” Jeff Yule, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, said in a release. “Last year’s raffle was a big success and we hope to see a lot of RMHC friends at the game and at the raffle table!”
Fans can buy raffle tickets as they enter the ballpark, with one ticket for $5, or five tickets for $20. Another option is for fans to purchase the ValleyCats’ muggle ticket package, which includes a premium box ticket, jersey raffle ticket, and a golden snitch for just $20.
First pitch for the game will take place at 7 p.m., with gates opening to “The Joe” at 6 p.m.
Game tickets are available at tcvalleycats.com or by calling 518-629-2287, or visiting the ValleyCats box office.
To purchase the muggle package, fans must enter the promo code “muggle” upon checkout, or call the ValleyCats box office.
