If you can’t make it to the Albany Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27, try attending an event in a nearby community.

Patio Launch Party at The City Beer Hall
Friday, May 24
In celebration of the unofficial start of summer this weekend, The City Beer Hall in Albany will host their Patio Launch Party on Friday from 5:00pm-9:00pm. This end-of-spring extravaganza will offer a raw bar and other chef-inspired specials from the sea, live music, and a great selection of patio drinks.
Sharon Springs Garden Party 2019
Saturday, May 25 & Sunday, May 26
Held in the historic village of Sharon Springs, the annual Garden Party attracts thousands of visitors to the community for gardening presentations, cooking demonstrations, entertainment, food, artisan vendors, and more. The festival will take place on Saturday from 10:00am-5:00pm and Sunday from 10:00am-4:00pm. Free parking and a shuttle service will be available at multiple locations in Sharon Springs.

Previously scheduled for last weekend, the 2019 Tulip Dig and Sale in Albany’s Washington Park will instead happen this Saturday and Sunday. The post-Tulip Fest event will include the ritual of digging up the city’s tulip bulbs, and a sale at the Lakehouse while supplies last.
Monday, May 27
On Memorial Day, Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady will present their 2nd Annual Rollin’ on the River Car Show. Featuring free admission, this festive event will welcome visitors to enjoy food and drink vendors, live DJ music, 50/50 and raffles, the car show, and more. Rollin’ on the River will run from 10:00am-3:00pm.

2019 East Durham Irish Festival

The Irish American spirit is alive and well in the Catskills, especially during the annual East Durham Irish Festival. This year’s festival will highlight a wide range of performers, such as Shilelagh Law, McLean Avenue Band, Kilashandra, the Farrell School of Irish Dance, and many more. While you’re there, be sure to check out the arts and crafts vendors and shop for Irish apparel.

Looking for a fun day trip this weekend? Consider a trip to MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. MASS MoCA is one of the largest contemporary arts centers in the country, and this Saturday, they will celebrate their 20th birthday party.
