Stay Active With Outstanding Outdoor Activities
Recognized as one of the world’s largest all-women road races, the annual Freihofer’s Run For Women will return to downtown Albany this Saturday. Thousands of women will compete in this 5K event, which will take place in the shadow of the NY State Capitol and City Hall. There will also be a Health & Fitness Expo, Junior 3K, and a Kids’ Run.
It’s never too late to learn to row, and during National Learn to Row Day, you can receive hands-on experience with the Albany Rowing Center. From 9:00am-12:00pm, the organization will offer tours of their boathouse, show the mechanics of the stroke, and bring attendees out on the water in racing shells.

The St. Peter Armenian Church in Watervliet will host a free Armenian Festival this weekend. Highlights will include authentic Armenian food, homemade desserts, live music, dancing, and games for the kids.
The St. Basil Greek Festival in Troy is an annual celebration of Greek culture. The three-day festival will offer authentic Greek food, music, dance, and a Greek Bazaar with all kinds of crafts and goods. Admission is free.
Kid-friendly entertainment and activities await at the 25th Annual Schenectady Kids Arts Festival this Saturday. Over 50 groups will be at the event painting, sculpting, performing, dancing, and inspiring children.
Head over to Monument Square in Troy and VEG OUT this Sunday! This free vegan food festival will feature tapas-sized portions of vegan food for sale from multiple local restaurants and vendors. The event will run from 11:00am-3:00pm, so stop by for lunch and try some tasty vegan food.
On Sunday, the Schenectady Pride Festival 2019 will be held at the Jay Street Marketplace in Schenectady beginning at 2:00pm. Enjoy the annual Drag Spectacular, live performances by local talent, and a variety of vendors.

The annual Capital Region Parade of Homes is a rare opportunity to take a self-guided tour of spectacular new homes from award-winning builders. This is the first weekend of the Parade of Homes, and during it, homes will be open to ticket-holders from 11:00am-5:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Explore Cars & Comics in the Capital Region
Do your kids love trucks? Bring them to the SUNY Albany State Gold Parking Lot for the Junior League of Albany’s Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday. For a small fee, kids and their families can enjoy hands-on experiences with big trucks. About 30-40 different vehicles will be on display and open to explore. Rounding out the event will be food, entertainment, vendors, and more.
