Catamount Mountain is officially opening a new, thrilling attraction this weekend, October 5 and 6! Be among the first adventurers to fly over the Berkshire and Taconic Mountains’ stunning fall foliage on Catamount ZipTour, which has now claimed the title of the longest zipline in the contiguous United States.

Your journey will begin with a short training zipline called Demo Span, followed by a scenic chairlift ride to the top of the mountain. Once at the summit, you’ll take a short, 900-foot zipline called the Ride Span, which will take you to the launch site for the main attraction: CataMonster Zipline.
It’s no wonder that at 5,500 feet, this zipline is now the longest in the lower 48 states. Since the zipline descends 1,000 feet of vertical distance, you’ll pick up quite a bit of speed, going as fast as 55 mph. With such a long span, however, you’ll have plenty of time to take in the beautiful vistas of the Berkshires and Taconics on the way down.
The entire excursion takes about two hours and zipliners will get to soar down almost 7,000 feet of cable.
Think ziplining is a solitary experience? It doesn’t have to be! The new ziplines at Catamount are dual, which means you and a friend can ride side-by-side on separate ziplines. It’s a great activity if you’re planning a family outing, a day off with friends, or a bonding experience for your team.
Participants at Catamount ZipTour must be at least 10 years old, 50 lbs, and 48 inches tall. The ziplines have a maximum weight and height of 260 lbs and 82 inches tall.
Catamount Mountain is located about an hour southeast of Albany in Hillsdale, NY and South Egremont, MA. Catamount ZipTour will be open on the weekends starting Saturday, October 5 and going through the middle of November. You can reserve your ride online.
