Experience an Afternoon of Fun on Lark Street
Enjoy $1 samples of tasty chili and chowder at the Lark Street BID’s 3rd Annual Chili Chowder Stroll this Saturday from 12:00pm-4:00pm. Visit all the participating restaurants and then vote for the best.
While you’re visiting Lark Street for the Chili Chowder Stroll, don’t miss the annual Santa Speedo Sprint. Presented by the Albany Society for the Advancement of Philanthropy (ASAP) in association with Albany All-Stars Roller Derby, the Santa Speedo Sprint is an 800-meter fundraiser run where runners can wear everything from speedos and bikinis to holiday-themed costumes. In fact, it’s encouraged!
Hit the Ice at the Empire “Skate” Plaza
Ice skating is now underway at the popular Empire “Skate” Plaza in Albany. Open daily from noon to 8:00pm, the free outdoor ice skating rink is a fun way to spend a few hours with the family this weekend.
Fall in Love With These Holiday Celebrations
Have a magical evening driving through the 23rd Annual Price Chopper/Market 32 Capital Holiday Lights in the Park. Featuring over 125 displays and scenes, the Capital Holiday Lights will leave you feeling festive in no time.
Join Sharon Springs for their three-day Victorian Holiday Celebration this weekend. The event will kick off with a Parade of Lights at 6:00pm and visits with Santa Claus on Friday night. On Saturday and Sunday, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for gift shopping at local stores and the Roseboro Hotel’s vendor fair.
Bring the kids to Christmas Land LLC this weekend and experience old-fashioned holiday season fun. There are a variety of activities and attractions to check out at Christmas Land LLC, such as horse drawn carriage and sleigh rides, train rides, cookie and ornament decorating, pictures with Santa and his elves, local artisan and crafter displays, and others.
Plan a trip to the Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Glenville for their annual Christmas in the Air! Santa will fly in from the North Pole on Saturday morning and stick around for pictures. Admission to the event includes food and drinks available for purchase, visits with Santa, crafts, access to all the museum buildings, and more.
Each year, the Altamont Victorian Holiday Celebration attracts visitors from throughout the Capital Region to the picturesque village of Altamont. Join the community for a day of holiday festivities, including Santa’s arrival by train, a festival of trees, a wreath auction, delicious food, crafts for the kids, and Christmas carols.
Now in its 40th year, the CBS 6 Melodies of Christmas has become the Capital Region’s premier holiday music extravaganza. The first concert this year will take place at Proctors on Thursday, December 19, at 7:00pm.
