On Sunday, downtown Troy will transform into a winter wonderland during the 2019 Troy Victorian Stroll. Recognized as the Northeast’s largest free holiday festival, the Troy Victorian Stroll offers entertainment and merriment for visitors. Highlights will include dozens of live performances, an arts and crafts show, rides, refreshments, and shopping specials.
Enjoy a Weekend of Fun Events in the Capital Region
Take a drive through the 23rd Annual Price Chopper/Market 32 Capital Holiday Lights in Albany. See over 125 holiday displays and scenes throughout Washington Park, and then meet Santa Claus at the Lake House.
This week, the Hart Cluett Museum will present the 63rd Holiday Greens Show. The holiday season tradition showcases 12 rooms filled with holiday displays utilizing fresh greens, flowers, and more.
Now in its 9th year, the Empire “Skate” Plaza will open to the public starting this Friday, December 6. Go ice skating with the family in Albany during the weekend.
Join the Albany Pine Bush Preserve on Friday for the unveiling of this year’s juried photo exhibit. Browse the new show and view amazing photos taken in the Albany Pine Bush. Awards will be presented, and snacks will be provided.
Stop by Schenectady’s City Hall for a fun-filled afternoon of activities the whole family can enjoy. From holiday hayrides to crafts, balloon art, and a holiday bazaar, Downtown Schenectady’s City Hall-iday is a can’t-miss event.
Cheer on the runners in the St. Peter’s Cardiac & Vascular Center’s 2019 Albany Last Run 5K. This festive race is fun for all ages, and it will be held in beautiful Washington Park.
Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells of the holidays at the 2019 Eastside Troy Christkindlmarket. There will be food, crafts, vendors, beer, brats, and more.
Head over to the Empire State Plaza and attend the annual NYS Holiday Tree Lighting presented by BlueShield of NENY. The schedule of events will feature visits with Santa, live music, ice skating, the tree lighting, and fireworks.
Stroll through the New York State Museum while shopping and sampling local food and beverages at the Taste NY Holiday Market. Cooking demonstrations will take place throughout the day, and the free event will run from 11:00am-4:30pm.
The annual Santa Speedo Sprint on Lark Street is an 800-meter race to raise funds for the Albany Damien Center and the HIV/AIDS program at Albany Medical Center. The hilarious and festive race will take place next Saturday, December 14.
