To thank first responders and frontliners during this public health crisis, the City of Albany’s three Business Improvement Districts: Central Avenue, Downtown Albany, and Lark Street (BID), are seeking nominations for their new “Celebrating First Responders & Frontliners” program. Each day in May, one of the BIDs will award one hero at random with a $50 gift certificate to a restaurant, retailer, or retailer-related business within their District.
Nominate a Local Hero
The three BIDs have come together to celebrate first responders and frontliners for their dedication and hard work to keep the community safe, mobile, and fed. The program begins on May 1, 2020, and will run through the end of the month.
In addition to the gift certificate award, all nominees submitted through May 31 will be entered into a drawing to win one of the $200 Gift Card Prize Packs each BID has provided. They will announce the winners of this drawing during the first week of June.
Wondering who to nominate? Consider nominating a doctor, nurse, EMT, firefighter, police officer, transportation worker, pharmacist, or grocery store worker, to name a few. All you need to do is submit a photo and a brief description of the worker through Downtown Albany BID’s Facebook page or by emailing info@downtownalbany.org. Entries are subject to verification.
