A New Ice Cream Parlor Is Coming to Schenectady
If you scream for ice cream, then you’ll be happy to hear that a new ice cream parlor is opening this spring in Schenectady. Located at the former site of Bumpy’s Polar Freeze, Stella’s Creamery & Cakes is a family-owned ice cream shop specializing in sundaes, gourmet cakes, premium soft and hard ice cream, and quick eats. As noted by the Daily Gazette, the expected opening date is in late March.
EV Charging Stations to Be Installed at Crossgates Mall
Livingston Energy Group and Crossgates Mall have partnered up to install 20 new electric vehicle charging stations at the mall to give customers the opportunity to charge their vehicles as they shop and dine. The project is expected to be completed during Q1 of this year, and Crossgates will host a formal ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.
Two Local Nonprofits Receive Significant Grant
The Troy Record has reported that the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation will provide a $35,000 grant to benefit both the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area and the Hope 7 Community Center. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area will receive $25,000 and the Hope 7 Community Center will receive $10,000 to help them get meals to families in need and address food insecurities in local communities.
