Major Restoration Project at Historic Cherry Hill Nears Completion
Historic Cherry Hill is one of Albany’s most recognizable landmarks, and recently, the historic house museum has been undergoing a three-phase restoration project.
According to an article by WAMC, phases one and two focused on restoring the house’s sills, securing the windows, and implementing a new HVAC system. Although some parts of the project still need to be completed, last year, volunteers and staff finally began to refurnish the home with artifacts that had been in storage.
The museum typically opens for tours in May, but reopening plans for this year are still to be determined due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Be sure to keep an eye on their Facebook page and website for updates.
Indoor Golf Simulator Business Expanding to Clifton Park & Malta
Featuring a comfortable lounge and state-of-the-art indoor golf simulators, The Bunker in Guilderland offers a luxury experience for both golfers and non-golfers. As noted by the Albany Business Review, the business is planning an expansion this summer to Clifton Park and Malta.
Full details have yet to be announced, but both new locations will include garden patios, indoor/outdoor bar areas, and TrackMan-brand simulators.
Local Seafood Company Plans Move to New Building
Hooked Seafood Co., a locally owned and operated seafood market and kitchen, is currently located at the Galleria 7 Market in Latham. However, later this year, they will be moving to their own building nearby at 1177 Troy Schenectady Road. Thanks to the new space, they plan to offer even more tasty menu options when they officially open their doors. Until then, check out their website for details about their fresh seafood and takeout meals.
