Grocery Store Plans, a New Indian Restaurant, and More
Honest Weight Food Co-op Explores Idea of a New Location
The Honest Weight Food Co-op is a popular spot for people looking to purchase natural, organic, and local food, and they currently operate a grocery store at 100 Watervliet Ave in Albany. However, that may not be their only store for long.
A recent Times Union article explains that the Honest Weight Food Co-op has partnered with the Electric City Food Co-op to explore the idea of opening a new grocery store in downtown Schenectady. Over the next few months, a joint exploratory committee will meet to determine the best way to bring healthy food to the area.
A New Indian Restaurant Is Coming to Albany
Later this month, a new Indian restaurant called Dosa Grill is expected to open at 1225 Western Ave in Albany, reports the Times Union. Dosa Grill’s website mentions that they specialize in a wide selection of Indian cuisine made with fresh ingredients. Everything is prepared according to original recipes, and patrons will be able to choose the level of spiciness. Downtown Albany Wants Your Movie Recommendations
Summer is all about outdoor concert series and movie series in the Albany area, and for summer 2022, the Downtown Albany Business Improvement District wants your movie recommendations. In a recent Facebook post, the organization asked what movies you’d like to see featured during their free outdoor movie series. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany Hosts 200th Drive-Thru Food Pantry
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany has partnered with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York to help distribute food to people in need. One of the main ways they’ve been able to do this is by hosting drive-thru food pantries in the Capital Region, and according to Spectrum News 1, the organization recently held its 200th drive-thru food pantry.
