Editor’s Note (3/11/2022 1:55PM): The City of Albany has just announced that due to the weather forecast, the Albany St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been postponed from Saturday, March 12 to Saturday, March 19.
Although St. Patrick’s Day isn’t until next week, the celebrations are kicking off early in Albany with the city’s annual parade. Make plans to attend the festivities, and see what else is happening around the Capital Region.

Vendors Needed for Albany Tulip Fest
The City of Albany Office of Cultural Affairs has announced that the deadline for Albany Tulip Fest vendor applications is extended from March 4 to March 25. They are accepting applications for food, art, and craft vendors who would like to participate in the annual event on May 7-8 (Mother’s Day weekend). Shop for Scottish Clothing & Goods in Latham
You don’t have to travel to Scotland to purchase quality Scottish tartan plaid clothing and other Scottish products. The Scotland-based ScotlandShop has just opened up its U.S. headquarters at 678 Loudon Road in Latham. According to an article by the Albany Business Review, the store specializes in goods made from traditional Scottish wool fabrics, and they have over 500 tartan options available. Plan a trip to the store or view their products online.
Attention Dog Parents: The City of Albany Needs Your Input
In a recent news flash, The City of Albany shared that they are planning some upgrades to the city’s local dog parks and would like input from dog parents. To submit your feedback and ideas, all you have to do is complete the online City Dog Parks Upgrade Survey, which includes questions like, “Would you like to see pavilions with a concrete floor in the dog park?”

Celebrate the Grand Opening of Ze Cuisine
Ze Cuisine & Cafe, a new Mediterranean eatery offering breakfast and lunch, has been serving the Waterford community since last summer. However, the Times Union reports that the restaurant will host an official grand opening event with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, March 23, at 11:00am. This special celebration will feature giveaways, charcuterie, baked goods, and specialty beverages, and attendees are encouraged to enjoy lunch from the regular menu afterwards.
