Learn About Lunchtime at the Plaza, a Public Mural, and More Newsy Updates
Make Plans for Live Music & Food at the Empire State Plaza
The Empire State Plaza’s Lunchtime at the Plaza Music Series is underway as of this week. On Wednesdays from June 8 – August 3 (excluding July 6), you can enjoy free live music at the Empire State Plaza Farmers Market from 12:00pm – 1:30pm. Come for the concert, and stick around for lunch at the nearby food trucks.
The next Lunchtime at the Plaza event is on June 15.
The Jay Street Marketplace Announces the Satur’Jay’ Event Series
The Jay Street Marketplace shopping district in downtown Schenectady recently announced a fun event series called Satur’Jay’ that will be held the second Saturday of each month from June through October. From 11:00am – 4:00pm, Satur’Jay’ will include a mix of market-wide sidewalk sales, special events, and entertainment for the family.
The first event in the series is scheduled for this Saturday, June 11. Local band Running the River will perform live during the day.
Discover a Unique Mural on William Street
Local artist Eugene O’Neill has been working hard to transform William Street, a connective corridor in Albany, into a public mural. William Street is located one block west of S Pearl Street between Howard Street and Beaver Street, and it now features a mural, lighting, and furniture for you to sit back and relax on. Stop by on June 16 for a grand opening celebration from 11:30am – 2:00pm.
Cider Belly Doughnuts Reopens in Downtown Albany
After temporarily closing their downtown Albany shop and focusing solely on their new Colonie location, Cider Belly Doughnuts has some exciting news. As of June 8, both locations are now open for business, so customers can get their weekly doughnut fix in Albany or Colonie. The modified hours for their N Pearl Street location in Albany are Wednesday – Sunday, 8:00am – 1:00pm, and closed on Monday and Tuesday.
