Don’t Miss Out on All the Fun During Summer at the Plaza
The Empire State Plaza’s Summer at the Plaza events are back in full force this year, so mark your calendar for live music, festivals, outdoor movies, and more. Looking to Stay Active? Try Out the New Fitness Court at SUNY Schenectady
On Monday, June 13, SUNY Schenectady hosted the grand opening of the campus’ new MVP Health Care Fitness Court. Located near the Mohawk-Hudson Bike Trail Access Point, this state-of-the-art fitness court is a free, open-air wellness center that features various equipment.
SUNY Schenectady’s fitness court is the first of nine that will be built throughout the Capital Region thanks to a partnership between MVP Health Care and the National Fitness Campaign.
Enjoy a Free Yoga Session in Downtown Albany
Would you like to recharge during the weekend in downtown Albany? The Downtown Albany Business Improvement District has announced a free outdoor yoga series called State Street Yoga. On Saturdays from July 9 – August 27, instructors from Root3d will lead 60-minute yoga classes at SUNY Plaza (Broadway & State Street). Classes will begin at 10:00am, and they are free to attend.
Get Your Caffeine Fix at the New Averill Perk
Founded by Averill Park resident Chris Bradway, Averill Perk is a new coffee shop located at 3561 NY Route 43 in West Sand Lake that welcomes everyone in the community to enjoy food and drinks together. According to an article from News 10 ABC, Averill Perk was inspired by the show “Friends” and currently offers hot and cold caffeinated drinks and sweet treats from a local baker.
