University at Albany (UAlbany) is an award-winning college located in Albany NY.

Established in 1844 and designated a University Center of the State University of New York (SUNY) in 1962, University at Albany (UAlbany) currently serves about 12,000 undergraduates and 5,000 graduates. Consistently ranked among America's Best Colleges in the US News Report - other accolades for UAlbany include a Wall Street Journal Listing as one of America's "Hot Schools". Individual departments continuously garner attention with a recent top five in the nation ranking awarded to the University's master degree program in Africana Studies.

The University has three campuses comprised of nine schools and colleges and offers 54 under-graduate majors, 84 Master's and 39 Doctoral degree programs. In addition, University at Albany's prime location within New York State's Capital Region offers students unique opportunities for internships, fieldwork and research, especially in the areas of government, law, health, finance, education, and business.

Students find additional opportunities and challenges through more than 30 accelerated bachelor's/master's programs and joint degree programs with such institutions as Albany Medical College, Albany Law School, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Boston University's Goldman School of Dental Medicine. And the college's nanotechnology department has developed into an international hub for this emerging science.

Campus life at University at Albany offers something for everyone. There are over 200 student groups and organizations, including 42 social fraternities and sororities at the University. Albany students also contribute more than 60,000 hours of community service through public and private agencies.

The college athletic program offers a wide range of programs, from competition level basketball to ballroom dancing. There are 19 teams that compete at the Division I level in addition to numerous club sports, intramural's and recreational programs.

Cultural opportunities abound. University at Albany boasts an excellent University-Community Orchestra and the acclaimed Theater Department provides an impressive array of productions from contemporary to classical. The University Art Museum offers a wide variety of exhibitions that enhance and extend work completed in the classroom as well as showcasing some of the nation's finest artists.
