Indulge your senses in the Inspiring, Tragic, Sensual, Breathtakingly Beautiful Dances of Isadora Duncan, performed by the City of Albany’s “ Premiere Dance Company”- Mayor Jerry Jennings

Maude Baum is planning something different to open the second decade of the 21st Century. The Company’s annual Spring Salon will feature an entire concert of dances choreographed by legendary artist and visionary Isadora Duncan. These magnificent dances are vigilantly kept alive by the handful of artists who now share them in concerts around the world. Duncan’s choreography was inspired by Greek and Renaissance Culture and performed to Master Composers of Classical Music. Her dances celebrate women from the ethereal to heroic, tragic and spiritual.

Maude Baum has been working with Duncan Artist and Reconstructor Jeanne Bresciani for over 20 years. She first commissioned Bresciani, Artistic Director of the International Isadora Duncan Institute, [...]

“Manhattan: Seeds of the Big Apple” by Gloria Waldron Hukle, available currently in both hard and soft cover, is now available (January 2010) in electronic version as an ebook. Hukle’s story of early Manhattan was the lead novel for the Waldron series (followed by “Threads – An American Tapestry” and “The Diary of a Northern Moon”).

“Manhattan: Seeds of the Big Apple” opens in 1653 when lower Manhattan was a Dutch community of about 120 houses, its people protected by a fort and a log wall which stood as a defense against Indian attacks. Today’s Wall Street follows the line of that ancient plank wall.

With historic accuracy Hukle tells the story of Sheriff Resolved Waldron, his wife, Tennake, and their three children who lived at the present day crossing of Wall Street and Broadway. There, along with them on Block B, across the street from [...]
