Gloversville Salvation Army to Celebrate 125 Years

Open House Starts Week of Public Events

Gloversville, NY (February 18, 2010) –The Gloversville Salvation Army will celebrate its 125th anniversary. The week of festivities include several events that will be open to the public.

Corps Officer, Captain Debra Stedman, invites the community to help celebrate, beginning with an Open House, on Sunday, February 28, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, at The Salvation Army Corps, located at 10 Spring Street, in Gloversville, NY.

The festivities will continue with the 125th Anniversary Celebration Meeting, on Monday, March 1, beginning at 6:00pm, also at The Salvation Army Corps. Light refreshments will be served.

The week long celebration concludes with the 125th Anniversary Celebration and Awards Ceremony, on Saturday, March 6, at 10:00am, at the Holiday Inn in Johnstown, NY. Admission is $15 and includes brunch.

“Go Vertical” For Cystic Fibrosis

Albany, NY—On March 4, 2010, the 22nd Annual Stair Climb presented by C.R. Bard will be held to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Northeastern New York. Over 400 people are expected to race up the 42 floors of the Corning Tower at the Empire State Plaza from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Registration begins at 4:00 p.m.

Climb as an individual, or as a team of four, and race to the top! Registration fees, which can be collected from sponsors, are $65 per individual, and $250 per four-person relay team.
