The song is going to be used as “background music for the city and city attractions.”

This is absolutely terrible. Nasal singing and porno movie guitar aside, the lyrics say absolutely nothing of value aside from “Alllllbany”

Try again, guys. Please.

This is horrible. This song is not one of the things that’s great about Albany.

My brother-in-law and I listened to it and thought it was kind of catchy and fun. I don’t understand all the really negative comments on facebook. Incidentally, I am a musician (a singer).

Nice attempt, but I agree that this is a terrible terrible song. The lyrics sounds like they were written by a 3rd grader. The beat and vocals sound like the song was made for a Barney video. Thanks for the effort, but I would NOT want any tourists listening to this … it might scare them away forever!

This is total ****. Are you serious?? Can you say LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW Budget.

That’s really terrible.

Although, if it’s only going to be used as “background music,” then maybe it could be passable. As long as you can’t hear the lyrics, the singer’s voice, or that weird guitar riff.

I like the corny A-l-b-a-n-y-n-y- song from the 80′s better….at least it was fun! This is just dull and drolls on.

Did they ever say what was so great about Albany? Or just that it was great?

This is really bad.

This is just my opinion-
The chord structure is catchy and creative. I like the lyric “Albany”
being sustained. It will go well behind a narrative in a commercial.
If the lyrics are too sophisticated,
it will clash against any dialogue in the ad.
The vocal arrangement is nice, but,
would be nice to hear 3 more voices added. One voice a third above the melody line and two more below.
The horn riffs could use a couple of trombones in the lower register to beef up the phrases.
All in all, though, I think this is a winner.

really? what were they thinking, this is like something from 1982. total disgrace to albany.

I just hate everything about it.

Agree with Julianna. Nasal singing could and should be corrected. The music is veeery simplistic. The lyrics say absolutely nothing about Albany’s attractions and lack intellectual sophistication. Other than that, great idea, Albany might use some upbeat marketing tactics. The song is not bad as the first draft but cannot be used for presentation just yet. Good luck and thank you for trying and ultimately improving the song.

Something to say?
