About this event

Established in 2005 by Carol Lang to help raise donations to support local animal organizations in the area. The Ballston Spa Witch Walk has grown to over 300+ witches. The annual pub crawl and Witch Dance raises donations for various animal organizations and brings 100's of people to the local establishments of Ballston Spa.

The walk currently begins with The Witch Dance in Wiswall Park around 5:00 PM. Donations will be accepted then from spectators or those not wishing to join the Walk or Dance but want to donate to the animals. Following the Witch Dance the witches head up to The American Legion to register at 6:00, get their wristbands if you registered late, and grab a snack and drinks before beginning the pub crawl around Ballston Spa. Lots of fantastic costumes and the only 'requirements' are a witch hat and a donation and wristband.

Men/Warlocks are welcome to attend with a wristband/donation. We gather and perform the dance throughout The Walk. The costume contest and raffles take place before the Walk at the Legion where titles like most original, etc... are awarded prizes. Local establishments have donated “prizes” to be given for winning raffle and contests. Establishments that welcome witches are The American Legion, Henry’s Tavern, Brickyard Tavern, Whitehouse, Coffee Planet, Augie’s Family Style Restaurant, The Elks, The Factory, Nomad Coffee and Crepes, and any others open you are willing to ask if they will welcome you. It is a busy evening and as you can imagine the Witches are an overwhelming presence so asking other establishments is best.

Local businesses donate as well such as all of the above restaurants and pubs plus Ken's Sunoco, Burlingame Orthodontics, Pompa Bros, Inc, Armer Funeral Home, Boho Chic Boutique, and more to come. KISS 102.3 has donated their time and advertising as well as various newspapers have covered the event. The Witches also dance in the Ballston Spa Holiday Parade to help promote the cause and in hopes of bringing more awareness to the event and its mission.
