Festival of Nations is a unique event celebrating cultural diversity in Albany NY. |
ALBANY NY –Celebrate different cultures from around the world at the 37th Annual Festival of Nations! Food, arts, crafts and groups from over 20 different nations will be represented on October 26, 2008 at this diversity celebration at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center.
Taste foods from around the world. Meet people from around the world. Enjoy entertainment from around the world. Discover arts and crafts from around the world... and so much more! Admission is just $5 for adults and $1 for children 3 through 12. The event runs from noon to 5 pm.
Who will be crowned Miss Festival of Nations? All lovely contestants between the ages of 14 and 18 were chosen by their participating nations to represent their country. The 2008 Miss Festival of Nations will be crowned at the event, co-hosted by Albany Tulip Queen Sarah Volk.
The celebration also includes the Parade of Nations, commencing at 11:45 am, plus a Pakistani Dress Show, Polish dances, Danish ballet, Ukraine folk dance, Korean Tae Kwon Do, Indian group dance and various other ethnic performances. Don’t miss out on the celebration offering such great entertainment!
24 cultures from around the world will be represented at the Festival of Nations, including Argentina, China, Columbia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Greece, Haiti, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Korea, Liberia, Lithuania, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey and Ukraine.
The Festival of Nations will raffle off various items and gift certificates to local businesses and restaurants. Tickets will be on sale near the information booth the day of the event. Check out what you could win!
