First look – I have no idea where and when this new photo tradition started. There are so few moments to make a grand entrance- I was up at 5:00am with the rest of the world to see Kate step out of her limo and and witness the priceless moment when Prince Harry nudged Prince William to tell him how gorgeous Kate looked. Just imagine the pressure your spouse must be under to have photographers waiting for some amazing reaction with the first look, hard not to feel staged under such scrutiny. Here is a wonderful alternative –
First Touch –
This summer two of our couples at The Appel Inn have experienced “first touch ” – Above i Lindsey and Tony – just married this August, had a moment to hold hands and whisper some private words before saying their ” I Do’s ” But No peeking –
They did not see each other until Lindsey made her entrance down the aisle -This photo and moment is priceless –

Any decor ideas for early December wedding?
Hi Kate
congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I find that Holiday/winter weddings seem to go one of two ways- either holiday – greens, reds and pointsetta’s or winter – Blues, mercury glass , candles. When it is the blue winter we use lots and lots of candles and mercury glass. If budget is a concern – you can never go wrong with all different heights of the 3″cylinders with water and floating candles – the candlelight reflects off the glass and the water and is just romantic and gorgeous. The real trick to DIY – is do not just do one – You need many. I find that is often the greatest difference between DIY and some of our professional florists. The florist will want 5 on a table and often DIY only thinks in ones. Going holiday – I love white pointsettas sprinkled with a little gold glitter in a gold pot ( just take a can of gold paint and paint your flower pots )
