Nothing makes you hungrier than reading (and writing!) about food – so appease that hunger at DiBella’s Old Fashioned Submarines’ new location in Latham, NY!
You probably know DiBella’s from its location at 1235 Western Ave in Albany. But for those who live north of the state capitol, rejoice ye, for there is a new DiBella’s on 2 Wade Road in Latham!
This submarine shop takes pride in its “old-fashioned” ways. Before fast-food and the boom of national chain restaurants, subs were made from fresh bread which was made not just once, but throughout the day. DiBella’s uses this method, along with fresh ingredients and what I can only describe as “real tasting” meat in each of their subs to get that good ol’fashion’d taste.
And the restaurant knows exactly how this tastes – it’s been in operation since 1918, first as a corner grocery store in Rochester, then as an Italian import store and deli, and finally in its current state as a submarine shop.
DiBella’s has expanded to 16 more locations in the past decade, with stores across 4 states, but it still strives to remain true to its local, small-town-taste roots. If you join an “Emeal” list online, you can sign up for coupons and updates specific to the DiBella’s nearest you.
Finding the new “Old-Fashioned Submarines” is easy – it’s right off of Route 7, adjacent to a Chipotle Mexican Grill, in part of a newly constructed building on Wade Road. Stop in any day from 10am-9pm to order a fresh sub or a boxed lunch, to place an order for catering, and to just enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.
