Today the elves arrive at The Pottery Place during the Adopt a Magic Elf event, giving shoppers a chance to start the “Elf On A Shelf” tradition in their own home this season.
A sure sign of the holiday season is when you begin seeing Christmas displays in stores, holiday advertisements online and a multitude of “Elf on the Shelf Ideas” on Pinterest boards! Well, if you plan on working this holiday tradition into your festivities this season, hunting down the perfect elf is of utmost priority.
The original stuff elf tradition is taking on new traditions at The Pottery Place, where kids (and kids at heart) can come in and paint these ceramic elves however they want. The Pottery Place will then glaze and fire your masterpiece (allow a week for this process), which makes paint brighter and shinier and the item food-safe (important for mugs, not necessarily elves).
“We’ve been doing this for a few years and people get very excited when the Magic Elves arrive,” says manager Gabriella Fritz.
Each elf is $25 and includes unlimited painting time in the studio. Each magic elf will come in a very special box, complete with a Magic Elf Journal to note if you have been naughty or nice, an Introduction Letter from Santa explaining how to care for his special elves as they watch over you, and special instructions for parents (read: mischievous hiding place suggestions).
Each elf is ceramic and curved precisely to be able to sit on mantles and bookcases (or other hidden spots parents can think to place them).
The elves arrive today to a slew of patient shoppers and will be sold until they run out, which happens every year Fritz says. Try and get your elf before the last rush around Christmas time!
