Movies Under the Stars: Zootopia
Friday, September 16
The Sage Colleges in Albany is teaming up with Christ’s Church Albany, the Pine Hills Neighborhood Association, and the Helderberg Neighborhood Association to present Movies Under the Stars. This Friday, see Judy Hopps try to enforce the law as the first rabbit to join the police force in the family-friendly Zootopia. There’s free admission, and free popcorn and drinks!
Regal Cinemas “My Way Matinee” Presents The Wild Life
Saturday, September 17
This film will be shown in a sensory-friendly environment with auditorium lights on but dimmed, and volume reduced. Happening at Regal Cinemas in Colonie, this special showing is designed to accommodate guests who may not feel comfortable with the typical noise levels at movie theaters. The show is $6.50 per person. Come out to watch animals on a tropical island get to know a new guest – Robinson Crusoe.

Troy Restaurant & Craft Beer Week
Friday, September 16 to Sunday, September 18
The Troy Restaurant & Craft Beer Week is going on throughout the weekend, with participating restaurants in downtown Troy offering special prix-fixe menus at four different price points ($5, $10, $20, and $30). Of course, there are also promotions going on highlighting Troy’s amazing craft beer. Check out a beer brunch at Rare Form Brewery with Flying Chicken on Sunday!
Saturday, September 17
Troy on Tap is back and in a new location at the Sage Athletic Field. Sample over 100 releases from some of the best craft breweries in the country as you enjoy live music, great vendors, and fantastic food. Tickets include three hours of sampling and a souvenir glass – tickets are $35 in advance or $45 at the door; there are also VIP tickets available, and discounted designated driver tickets.
Fun with Festivals
Capital Region Apple & Wine Festival
Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18
Now in its 24th year, the Capital Region Apple & Wine Festival is the premiere apple festival in the area, drawing in crowds of about 18,000 at the Altamont Fairgrounds. Come to check out wine tastings, a farm market, arts and crafts vendors, kids activities like pumpkin painting and a haunted house, live music, and more. Brand new this year will be hard cider and spirits tastings along with the wine! Tickets are just $8, and kids under 15 are free.
7th Annual Pearl Palooza – Pearl Street Music Festival
Saturday, September 17
Head on down to Pearl Street in Albany for a great lineup of a bands, a wide variety of food, and more. This year’s performers include Galactic, Warpaint, Maybird, Bassh, The Greeting Committee, and Rechorduroys.
Sunday, September 18
Upper Madison Avenue comes alive with local arts and crafts, food, dancing, drumming, a used book sale, a silent auction, plein air painting, music, and kids activities – art, yoga, face painting, and chess.
