You’ll have four festivals to choose from in the Albany area this weekend, along with nine other excellent events. Whether you’re hoping to find entertainment for the kids or you just feel like getting out, we’ve rounded up the top events happening.
Find a Fantastic Festival
Friday, June 2 to Sunday, June 4
PolishFest is happening all weekend in Latham with food, music, art, language, customs, and the culture of Poland. Try traditional Polish foods, enjoy Polish music and dancing, and there will even be a kids area with games, face painting, activities, and snacks.
Saturday, June 3
The 23rd annual Kids Arts Festival is happening in Schenectady. This is a fun, outdoor arts festival just for kids with performances from The Puppet People, vehicle and safety tips from local firefighters, flight simulators and drones, and you can get ready for Father’s Day by creating cards with the Hamilton Arts Center.

The American Music Festival is a five-day festival of concerts and artistic events occurring throughout Troy, including a special preview of the upcoming Water Music NY series with the Albany Symphony. Ticket prices vary, or you can purchase a full festival pass for all the concerts happening for $99.

Whether you’re a full-on tea-lover or you’re interested in learning a bit more about tea, you should check out the third annual Albany Tea Festival, happening at Overit. There will be specialty vendors, tea talks, charity raffles, and a Chinese tea ceremony.

Saturday, June 3
Thousands attend the Freihofer’s Run for Women in downtown Albany each year. If you haven’t registered yet, you can still do last chance registration Thursday or Friday in person at the Health & Fitness Expo at Sage College.

This 1.86-mile race is intended for kids ages 8 to 14. Online registration is closed but you can still register in person for $15 on Thursday or Friday, as with the main Freihofer’s Run for Women. A family member is allowed to run along the route with the child.
A New Leash on Life 5K Walk/Run

This 5K happening in Schenectady is for all the animal-lovers and avid dog-walkers out there! Your furry friend is allowed to run alongside you. The cost is $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the race.
For Comic and Collectibles Enthusiasts
Sunday, June 4
Albany Comic Con comes around twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. This Comic Con is happening at the Radisson Hotel in Albany and will feature comic books and collectibles for all ages. You can look forward to a smaller, more intimate convention compared to larger national conventions you might have been to.

Kill Bill at the Madison Theater

The favorite martial arts film is playing throughout the weekend at The Madison Theater for just $5. Watch Uma Thurman’s character on her quest to seek revenge.

The Power Rangers movie that just came out in March of this year is being shown at Proctor’s, also for just $5 a showing. High school outcasts must become something extraordinary when they learn of alien threats. It’s morphin’ time!
