Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival
Saturday, September 9
Great food, fun vendors, and kids activities can be found at the Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival at Jennings Landing. And of course, great jazz! The festival has a lineup of excellent jazz artists: The JECCO Trio, The Piggly Wigglies, Michael Benedict & Bopitude, SOMI, and Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah.
New York State International Film Festival
Friday, September 8 to Thursday, September 14
The annual New York State International Film Festival starts this Friday and runs through next week. Happening at The Madison Theater in Albany, each day of the festival features different types of short films: drama, documentaries, horror and experimental, and more.
Saturday, September 9
Celebrate the Italian culture in Schenectady this weekend at the Italy StreetFest. Live music will be happening at two different stages, you can check out a culture tent with fun tidbits on Italian American heritage, there will be a Kids Midway with bounce houses and more, and of course you can dig into some great Italian food.

The St. George Greek Festival is going on all weekend at the Hellenic Center in Schenectady. You can catch live music from Prometheus, folk dance performances by the St. George Youth Dancers, fantastic Greek food and pastries, arts and crafts, raffles, and more.

The Albany Labor Day Parade is happening on Friday, kicking off from City Hall. There will also be a picnic at the Corning Preserve along with food, entertainment, and fireworks at dusk.

You can get access to unlimited rides at Huck Finn’s Playland on Saturday with the purchase of a $40 wristband. You must buy the wristband online ahead of time; none will be sold at the door.
A Unique 5K Run

The Insane Inflatable 5K is back at Ellms Family Farm in Ballston Spa with a crazy obstacle course along the 5K. If you’re interested in registering hurry and see which wave times are still available – spots fill up fast! This is also a spectator-friendly 5K if you’d rather just watch the fun.
