Hit the Ice at the Empire “Skate” Plaza
Enjoy free outdoor ice skating at the Empire “Skate” Plaza in Albany! The ice skating rink is featured at the Empire State Plaza, and it is open to the public daily, weather permitting. This Saturday, the Hudson Mohawk Figure Skating Club will host a free Learn to Skate Clinic at the rink at 10:00am and 11:00am.
Learn Something New at Local Open Houses
In celebration of National Skating Month, the Albany Figure Skating Club will present an Ice Skating Open House at the Bethlehem YMCA in Delmar. Coaches will be on the ice providing mini-lessons and answering questions about the club’s Learn to Skate program. Skate rentals will be available.
Have you ever wanted to try curling? Join the Albany Curling Club on Saturday from 10:00am-5:00pm at their family-friendly winter open house. Experienced curlers will teach you how to deliver the curling stone and sweep it like a real Olympian.
Everyone can attend Guilderland YMCA’s Open House for a wide variety of free happenings, such as mini swim evaluations, a mini youth basketball assessment, a badminton demo, and more. The open house will take place from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
Located in Albany, The Music Studio is a music school that offers a range of classes and programs for kids. On Sunday, the school will host a free open house to give children with special needs and their parents a chance to make music with one another. Call to register.
