From Schenectady to Altamont and Round Lake, there’s always something going in the Capital Region during winter. This weekend is no exception as some of the top events will include a winter wine festival, an ice bar, the Harlem Globetrotters in Albany, and much more.
Experience Winter Attractions & Celebrations
Want to see what the ice bar craze is all about this winter? Head up to The Mill on Round Lake for their Fire & Ice Bar this Friday and Saturday. Check out the huge ice bar, play ice shuffle board, sit by the fire pits, and sip a specialty drink.
Enjoy wine, warmth, and wonder at Altamont Vineyard and Winery’s new Winter Winederland celebration. The two-day event will include local wine and brews, live music, an igloo selfie booth, ice sculptures and outdoor activities, a dessert bar, and more.
Do the winter blues have a hold over you? Get out of the house with the kids and visit the Schenectady Jewish Community Center on Sunday from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Their Mid-Winter Summer Blowout will feature a bouncy-bounce, crafts, swimming, and information about summer camp and early childhood education programs.

Create small fabric hearts to give away as Valentine’s Day gifts this year! The Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy will host a fiber arts workshop on Saturday from 12:00pm-2:00pm. No registration is required, but supplies will be limited.
On Saturday, the Underground Railroad History Project of the Capital Region, Inc. will present a Valentine’s Day gift workshop at The Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence. Participants ages 8 and up will make a lovely and color bouquet. Admission is $5.
