Witness the Magic of Spring at Lupine Fest
This year, the Albany Pine Bush Preserve’s annual Lupine Fest will feature online interactive programs and limited in-person activities from Saturday, May 15 through Saturday, June 5. The new Lupine Fest website will go live on May 15, and visitors will be able to access online resources to enjoy solitary nature walks, hands-on activities, and more.
New Boutique Hotel Opens Near Washington Park
According to the Albany Business Review, a new urban boutique hotel recently opened near Washington Park in Albany. The lodging property is called The Argus Hotel, and it’s located at 8 Thurlow Terrace. In addition to comfortable guest rooms, The Argus Hotel features event space, a cocktail lounge, a variety of complimentary amenities, and more. Check out their website for full details.
Downtown Schenectady Gets a New Vegan Restaurant
The Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation announced that Take Two Cafe, formerly known as Square One Cafe, is opening on Thursday, May 13, at 433 State Street in Schenectady. This local restaurant will serve an outstanding selection of vegan breakfast and lunch items, including vegan Reubens, burgers, and tuna salads.
Take Your Family Out to a Ball Game in Troy

The Tri-City ValleyCats in Troy are looking forward to the start of their 2021 season as a member of the Frontier League. Their home opener is on Friday, June 4, and individual game tickets for all June home games are now available for purchase. Fans can get their tickets online or by calling the ValleyCats Box Office at 518-629-2287. The ballpark has been laid out in seating pods that are spaced out from one another, and fans must buy an entire pod of seats.
“Eat in the Street” in Cohoes Is Back By Popular Demand
On Friday nights from May 7 until October, weather permitting, Cohoes diners will be able to “Eat in the Street” at more than two dozen restaurants who will be expanding their table service outside onto Remsen Street. Get Hired! Crossgates Mall Job Fair Is Underway
Are you searching for a new job in the Capital Region? From now through June 28, Crossgates Mall will be hosting a hybrid online and in-person job fair. Mall businesses are aiming to fill over 60 part- and full-time positions, and you can see the current list of job openings on Crossgates’ Employment page.
Potential candidates can also visit Crossgates and identify businesses that are hiring by spotting a special “Get Hired!” Job Fair sign in the storefront windows. Candidates can then scan the QR code on the sign for more info.
