Hattie's Albany Celebrates Grand Opening

After serving customers their classic comfort food in Saratoga since 1938, Hattie's Restaurants has officially opened their new location in Albany as of March 14, 2024.

Hattie's Albany will be serving dinners from 4 to 9 PM, Monday - Saturday, and weekend brunch from 10 AM to 2 PM.

Their menu at the Albany location will be similar to the cuisine served at Saratoga, yet not identical. Executive Chef Mark D. Graham has crafted different dishes for the new spot, featuring a blend of Southern & Louisiana inspired eats.

Crossgates to Celebrate 40 Years in the Capital Region

Forty years ago, Crossgates Mall in Albany welcomed their first customers on March 4. To celebrate this 40th anniversary, the shopping center will host a year-long celebration featuring special events, giveaways, and more.

Crossgates Mall acknowledges that this was made possible due to the love and support from their customers and business partners over the years. From great restaurants to shops and entertainment venues, Crossgates has something for everyone in the Capital Region.

Restaurant Owner Wins NY Small Business Person of the Year

Aneesa Waheed has been named the NYS Small Business Person of the Year from the U.S. Small Business Administration. She is both the owner and chef of the incredible Tara Kitchen. 

Tara Kitchen specializes in Moroccan cuisine and has a handful of locations throughout New York, New Jersey, and India! Waheed has received many other awards including the Albany Business 40 Under 40, ICCR Business and Entrepreneurship Award, and NYS Assembly Women of Distinction.

This award is given to those who are making a positive impact within their own communities. Waheed says, "I share this with the community, my team and a staggering number of New York agencies that have supported me in my career." Restaurant and cocktail bar, Vice & Virtue Restaurant, opened in Schenectady on March 12. If you are searching for a more sophisticated and connected atmosphere, this is the spot for you. They promise a creative and high end experience for their customers in the Capital Region.

They are located at the former location of Pinhead Susan's. The opening of Vice & Virtue marks a new era in the dining and nightlife scene of Schenectady. For those interested, they have quite a variety of cuisine on their menu. Some of their options include Baja Shrimp Tacos, Blackjack Burger, Veggie Gyro, and much more!

Union Hall Supply Co. Expands to Albany

Union Hall Supply Co., a men's boutique store in Saratoga Springs, is expanding their operations to a new location in Stuyvesant Plaza. It will open in the plaza this upcoming summer on their south side. Their flagship location on Broadway opened up in July 2019 and has been offering great fits for men.

Owner Heidi Owen West has two other stores in the Saratoga region which are Lifestyles and Caroline & Main. She has made the decision to expand into Stuyvesant as it reminds her of Saratoga and is a desirable shopping destination. With Union Hall's success in Saratoga, it will continue selling great wear to gentlemen in the Capital Region.
