ALBANY NY -- Visit the Price Chopper Capital Holiday Lights in the Park this season, from November 20, 2014 through January 3, 2015. The 18th annual lights spectacular is an awe-inspiring show with over 125 light displays and scenes in Albany. This year's theme is "Christmas in Albany" and is commemorating the 26th Anniversary of the PAL Youth Programs!
Drive through the park to marvel at never-before-seen displays along with some old time favorites.
Meet Santa And His Reindeer - After you drive through this amazing display, enjoy all sorts of crafts, costumed characters, refreshments and even Santa (through Dec. 23) at the Lakehouse! Little ones will be able to whisper their Christmas wishes in Santa's ear while enjoying all sorts of fun and activities.
What does it cost?
To drive through the display, it costs:
- $15 per car
- $25 for a limo or 10-18-passenger van
- $50 for vehicles with 19-28 passengers
- $75 for 29 or more people, including school busses
- $100 for commercial coaches

And When Can We Go?
- Capital Holiday Lights display runs 6 - 9 PM Sundays through Thursdays and 6 - 10 PM Fridays and Saturdays through January 3, 2015.
- The show will be closed for Thanksgiving on November 26 and 27.
- Santa's live reindeer will visit the Lake House on November 20, December 3, 10, 16, and 23.
- The Reverberators will be performing their song "Christmas in Albany" on November 23 and 30 and December 7 and 21.
- The Lake House is closed December 24, 25, 31, and January 1-3, but the drive through show will run at its normally scheduled time.

Feel like taking a walk? On three nights this year you can walk through Washington Park. Join in our Special Charity Walk Nights:
On Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, join us for the first ever Capital Holiday Lights Chili, Chowder, and SoupFest, featuring many of the Capital Region's favorite restaurants and delis. Sample $1.00 portions as you enjoy the music of The Reverberators at the Washington Park Lake House. Visit our crafters and Santa, and ejnoy a leisurely stroll around the Lights on the Lake. Your monetary donation (suggested $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family) will benefit three local charities: The Albany Damien House, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, and Vested Interest in K9's.
On Monday, November 24 and Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, join us for our Family and Pet Nights and a special walk around the beautiful carriage paths of the Washington Park Lake. Stop into the Lake House to visit with Santa and our crafters for some holiday shopping. Your monetary donation (suggested $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family) will benefit three local charities: The Albany Damien House, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, and Vested Interest in K9's.
But How Do We Get There?!
FROM THE WEST: Go East on Route 20 into Albany. Bear right at fork in the road (intersection of Allen Street). Continue East on Madison Avenue to New Scotland Ave entrance. Turn left into Washington Park.
FROM THE EAST: Go West on I-90 to I-787 South. Continue South on I-787 to Madison Avenue exit. Proceed West on Madison Avenue to New Scotland Avenue. Entrance to Washington Park is on the right.
FROM THE NORTH: Go South to I-90. Exit I-90 at Arbor Hill. Continue straight on Henry Johnson Blvd., following it to New Scotland Avenue entrance.
FROM THE SOUTH: Take I-787 North to Exit 23 or (North to Southern Blvd.). Take Southern Blvd. to Delaware Avenue. Take a right on Delaware Avenue and proceed to Madison Avenue. Take a left on Madison to New Scotland Avenue entrance to Washington Park.
All proceeds from Price Chopper Capital Holiday Lights will benefit the Albany Police Athletic League, PAL, a juvenile crime- prevention program in the City of Albany.
Can I Volunteer?
Volunteers are needed for set up every weekend beginning October 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with evening volunteer hours beginning November 28. Volunteers work outside setting up more than 125 displays and should bring work gloves with them.
Volunteers also work inside the Lakehouse to transform it into Santa’s Workshop with Santa, crafters and more. During the show, “Albany PAL relies heavily on volunteers to help with such activities as photos with Santa and costumed characters,” said PAL Executive Director Sgt. Lenny Ricchiuti.
