ALBANY NY -- Visit the unique Capital Holiday Lights in The Park this season, from November 27, 2009 through January 2, 2010. This 14th annual lights spectacular is an awe-inspiring show with over 125 light displays and scenes in Albany NY.

Drive through the park to marvel at never-before-seen displays along with some old time favorites. The theme for Capital Holiday Lights in the Park for 2009 is Celebrating Our Differences. The display also features areas designated to other festive themes, including 12 Days of Christmas, Salute to America, Santa's Toyland and Our Victorian Village.

After you drive through this amazing display, enjoy all sorts of crafts, costumed characters, refreshments and even Santa (through Dec 23) at the Lakehouse! Little ones will be able to whisper their Christmas wishes in Santa's ear while enjoying all sorts of fun and activities. (Note: the Lakehouse will be closed December 24-25 and January 1-2).

To drive through the display, it costs $15 per car, $25 for a limo or 15-passenger van and $75 for a bus. Enter the display at the Madison and New Scotland Ave entrance to Washington Park. Visitors can also take carriage rides through the lights display on Thursday through Sunday evenings. Discount coupons for $5.00 off admission on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are available exclusively at Capital Region Hannaford stores.

All proceeds from Capital Holiday Lights will benefit the Albany Police Athletic League, PAL, celebrating its 16th year as a juvenile crime- prevention program in the City of Albany.

Capital Holiday Lights display runs every day from 6 pm to 9 pm, and until 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays through January 2, 2010. The event is brought to the Capital Region by The City of Albany, Mayor Gerald D. Jennings and the Albany Police Athletic League, PAL.
