Jay Street is Schenectady NY's hot-spot you must hit. It is a pedestrian neighborhood full of art, culture, history, celebration, and more - you will have to see for yourself.
Jay Street is located between the Capital Region hot-spot Proctors Theater and Schenectady City Hall. It stretches from State Street, downtown Schenectady, turning into North Jay Street, ending at Erie Blvd in northern Schenectady.
Jay Street has become a destination in the Capital Region for shopping and entertainment. Businesses along Jay Street are the kind that know your name. Many are small, independently operated. You will find an assortment of bars and restaurants, as Jay Street is a popular location to go for a night out in Schenectady. Head out to the Van Dyck, Alto Grille, or Pinhead Susan's for a night of live music and drinks with good friends near Jay Street.
Explore art work along Jay Street at galleries and shops such as the Jay Street Gallery (163 State Street, Schenectady) holding frequent events and exhibitions. Stops along Jay Street are frequent during the popular Schenectady Art Nights.
Stop for a bite to eat at one of the Jay Street eateries such as Perecca's Bakery or Ambition Coffee & Eaterys serve lighter fares and are all located right on Jay Street. Culture shines in downtown restaurants from Italian cuisine at Cornell's Restaurant on 39 N. Jay Street or Francesco's Ristorante at 108 Jay St. to Aashiana Restaurant on 118 Jay Street serving Indian cuisine. Chez Daisy, on Jay Street, is known for their French crepes. Stick with American cuisine at Ambition, located at 154 Jay St.
