About this event
On Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 1pm-4pm, Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site will host an 18th century crafting workshop. This free event is geared for children ages ten and up.
Schuyler Mansion and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Alpha Phi Omega fraternity invite all to wrap up spring break with a day of crafts. Learn the basics of 18th century crafts, including embroidery, miniature painting, bookbinding, and mending, while inside an 18th century mansion! Guests will move to crafting stations at their own pace, learning the basics of each craft with members of the Epsilon Zeta chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a fraternity dedicated to community service. All materials are provided, and participants can bring their finished craft home.
This event is free, but reservations are required. To reserve a space, please call Schuyler Mansion at (518) 434-0834. The event will follow a drop-in format, but its recommended guests arrive early to ensure preferred craft availability, as space is limited at each station.
Schuyler Mansion is located at 32 Catherine Street in Albany’s historic South End. For information about this or other site events, please call (518) 434-0834, visit https://parks.ny.gov/visit/historic-sites/schuyler-mansion-state-historic-site, or find us on Facebook and Instagram.
