What Happened to Hoffman's Playland?
Hoffman’s Playland was a significant fixture of Latham from 1952 to 2014, offering family fun without an admission fee and creating lasting memories for multiple generations.
When Dave and Ruth Hoffman announced they would be retiring after the 2014 season, over 20,000 area residents came together to try to save the Playland.
While there was some interest in purchasing the property, nothing permanent stuck, until Huck Finn's Warehouse stepped in before the rides went to auction.
They declared they would move the entire park to their property in the warehouse district of downtown Albany, just about 15 minutes from the original location. The park reopened in 2015, with many of the original rides.
These Hoffman's Playland photos are from 2013.
